Welcome to the Hip Hop FinFest Lessons. These articles, videos, comics, and real f’real stories are here to help you choose what to write your song about. 

Your song will be judged on quality, originality, and (this is the big one) the money story you choose to share. We’ve asked you to write songs because music makes sense, and the stories of songs become common sense. We’re asking you to build a new common sense about what’s important to you. It’s your choice.

We change the world when we make choices. Predatory financial systems try to take that choice away. From lobbying to monopolies to misinformation campaigns, it’s hard to know what our options really are. That’s why we make, do, live, and breathe hip-hop. 

MCs, we’re here to tell the stories of the unheard, build new common sense and inspire people to unite around a cause that you’re passionate about. Money can make a difference when we save it for the future, when we share it with people in need, or when we spend it on things we value.
