Coaches, counselors, professors, teaching artists, mentors, all my educators

I know it’s been hard right? Banned books & curricula, slashed budgets and more substandard standards, corrupt chancellors, and we get all the blame, 

But sometimes… it works right? When they get that lightbulb

Damn it feels good to be a teacher

A real teacher is a mentor not a cop right

A real teacher takes de-escalation PD

'Cause we’re not legally allowed to stop fights

Administrators always gotta high cap

Blaming us for behavioral problems

But real teachers don't need to flex much

Real teachers let their actions absolve them

And everything's chaos in the mind of a teacher

Some get killed in the present

But this teacher here is a smart one

Lives on the block like a neighborhood legend

For the predatory industry leader
